Tender of the week - Australasia

Transmission line uprating

Tenders.Net Ref.#:  619606

Tender Details:  1284 - Transmission Line Uprating
The north-west and north coast of NSW are primarily supplied by the 85 and 86 Tamworth to Armidale, 87 Armidale to Coffs Harbour and 89 Coffs Harbour to Lismore 330 kV transmission lines. These 330 kV lines are supported by an underlying 132 kV network which includes the 96C Armidale to Coffs Harbour tee Dorrigo 132 kV transmission line.
For an outage of the 87 Armidale to Coffs Harbour 330 kV transmission line, it is possible for the 96C Armidale to Coffs Harbour 132 kV transmission line to exceed its thermal rating at times of high loads. At present the 96C line is operating at a design temperature of 85ºC.
The solution to increase the maximum design operating temperature from 85ºC to 100ºC on 86 line is achieved by replacing identified timber pole structures with taller concrete poles and the use of V string insulators where a minor increase in conductor attachment height is required.
The Specification has three (3) Separable Portions:
Separable Portion 1 of the Contract Specification work involves the remediation works of the existing 96C 132kV transmission line, between TransGrid’s Armidale 330/132kV Substation and its Coffs Harbour 330/132 kV Substation, to ensure the ground clearance is acceptable for operation of the conductor at a temperature of 100ºC.
Separable Portion 2 of the Contract Specification work involves the uprating of an existing 330kV twin timber pole transmission line, between TransGrid’s Tamworth 330kV Substation and its Armidale 330 kV Substation, to ensure the ground clearance is acceptable for operation of the conductor at a temperature of 100ºC.
Separable Portion 3 of the Contract Specification covers the dismantling works of the remaining section of the 96K Armidale to Coffs Harbour 132kV transmission line, situated near to the Coffs Harbour Substation.
Separable Portion 1, 2 and 3 of the Contract will include but not be limited to all associated works such as clearing, provision of access tracks, supply of all materials except insulators (which will be provided by the Principal), structure erection and re-stringing of conductor, earthwire and optical fibre ground wire, pole riser installation and required fitting adjustments and where necessary site remediation works.

Online Tendering - We invented it

19 years have now past since Jon Barnard (our Managing Director) invented On-line Tendering.

The first system was developed many years before the Internet (1989) and consisted of 100 telephone lines, each linked to a modem and a multi-tasking database software he had developed on MS DOS based machines.

This was an amazing achievement for the technology of the day. Not only was this the world’s first on-line interactive Tender system, it is believed to be one of the first interactive on-line database systems developed in the world.

We are just as dedicated to the future development of on-line tendering as we were in 1989 and we are gradually openning up more and more of our services for free access. You can advertise tenders and access many of the tenders listed on this network without cost.

So what are you waiting for?

If you are a Supplier of goods and services looking for business opportunities (many free to access) click here to register.

If you are a Buyer wanting to advertise tenders and receive a host of other services without charge on Australasia's largest system click here to register.
