The event is staged in Feb / March each year on Adelaide's world-renowned street circuit. The Clipsal 500 Adelaide has enjoyed nationwide recognition since inception. Crowd numbers have set national motorsport attendance records over many years. In addition, the event has been awarded the prestigious V8 Supercars Australia "Promoter of the Year" Award for seven consecutive years (1999-2005), has been a winner at the SA Tourism Awards on eight occasions (2001-2008) and has been recognised as the nation's best Major Event & Festival at the Australian Tourism Awards four times. The Clipsal 500 Adelaide has also been inducted into the SA Tourism and V8 Supercars Australia Halls of Fame. The continuation of these achievements is of high priority.
